This piece is really well executed and so promising. It reminds me in a way of a fairy tale, of an old castle lost forever deep in the wood, but the one who ventured there would find great secrets behind the door. The lighting is also particularly excellent, easily conveying a vast canopy above, without showing a single full tree trunk. The roots, too, lend to the hidden in the forest theme, promising trees older than the civilization built among them. I love the pattern on the door and stairs, but to me, the last layer, the walkway at the bottom, needs a variation of it, too. Over all, a beautiful work.
I do wonder if 3D was used here at all. At any rate, the dappled light really adds to the piece and even draws the eye to the top half of the painting. Nicely done All the other comments say things I might have said haha, but there is no need for repetition.
